You can easily access the long relaxing nudist, and non nudist sandy beaches from all the apartments we manage. You will also find a friendly welcome within the nudist tapas bars and chiringuitos along the beachfront. However, locally, there is also a great selection of non naturist bars and restaurants.
Ciudad de Barcelona
Another very poplar area to visit, is at the edge of the naturist urbanization’s. and is known locally as “hotel street” . Here, you will find a far bigger selection of English and Spanish Bars & Restaurants to welcome you, along with Adult themed bars and clubs.
This popular area is within an easy 10 minute walk from all of our managed naturist apartments. and approximately 20/25 minutes from the non naturist zone
Also, For all your day to day essentials, there’s a large branded supermarket (Consum). Which along with a pharmacy, and also a shopping complex (The Vera Plaza) located just next door. You can really spoil yourselves, whilst visiting locally within the same area. the shops are visited by both naturists and non naturists equally, and is designated as a non naturist zone.
Vera Playa is very LBGQT friendly, and welcomes everybody to enjoy its many popular facilities.
Aqua Park Vera
At the back of the Consum Supermarket Car Park, is an enormous Water theme park. complete with slides, drops, and water chutes. its perfect for you to cool down with, on those lovely hot days, However, because this is both a family and a couples/Singles attraction, it should keep everyone amused for hours.
Other Areas:
Around Vera Playa are the towns of Garrucha and Mojacar and Puerto Rey and also Palomares and within a very short drive, the village of Villaricos and its amazing Sunday produce Market and non naturist beaches. (excerpts from Wikipedia and Visit Andalucia)
The nearest small towns, all have several amenities, including restaurants, and a seriously wonderful varied Night-life to suit everyone’s tastes.
Garrucha
Garrucha is a fully operational port, and has a large marina. along with major banks, large branded shops, and supermarkets, and also a varied selection of restaurants and Spanish takeaways. (that really are exceptional). Also on Friday Mornings, you will find a traditional Spanish Market.
Mojacar Pueblo
The traditional Andalucian “white” village of Mojácar Pueblo. is nestled neatly into the mountain side overlooking Mojacar Beach. Also a Natural Free Spring for fresh Drinking Water is there (So don’t forget to bring your containers) !!! however, It also has a selection of tapas bars and restaurants and most of them with stunning scenic views of all the surrounding areas. (Most importantly, don’t forget your camera)
Oasys Mini Hollywood Theme Park
Many recent big movies have been filmed in and around the desert area known as Cabo de Gata. This area is roughly an hour’s drive away from Vera Playa, (Heading south). and has a specialised movie theme park. However, Its designed for all ages to visit, and is known locally as the Mini Hollywood. It’s really worth a full days visit. (Maybe you could even get involved in a gunfight)
Should you travel deeper into Cabo de Gata, you could be lucky enough to spot some famous stars that maybe filming. (even David Beckham’s Been !!!).
A bus service serving Vera town, Garrucha, Mojácar, Palomares, and many other localities is available, However, you can also save money by purchasing a cheap day return ticket. (Every little helps).
The local bus service tends to operate more frequently in the summer season. The latest Bus timetables, are located in our apartment should they be required.
A history of Naturism in Vera Playa (excerpts from Wikipedia)
Vera Playa has been officially recognised Since 1990, as probably the largest official naturist/nudist area in Europe . Vera Playa is a rapidly developing major centre for naturism.
There are several naturist apartment urbanisation’s, including:-
- Natsun.
- La Menara.
- Bahia de Vera.
- Vera Natura.
- Torremar Natura
- Plus many others
- And of course we have many non naturist apartments are also available to choose from.
The tourist area’s are open to visiting nudists, and non nudists, Therefore, parking facilities are readily available. Also, a dedicated 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) area of beach has been reserved especially for naturists use. with the non naturists beaches situated at either side.
History Fact
In Vera Playa, a Guinness world record was set On the 21st July 2013 with 729 skinny dippers entering the sea at El Playazo beach. At 12.00 noon, the previously set record of 506 from the previous year in New Zealand was broken.*
The event was arranged by a local online forum called the Vera Playa Friends.
The then Vera Town Mayor “José Carmelo Jorge” called the mass nude swim a “tremendous success”. and was organised in association with Vera Town hall and the Tourist Office.
The Spanish Naturist Federation was also involved in the record attempt, and the day chosen was called the “day without swimsuits” . and hundreds of Spanish naturists flocked to the beach and viewed and participate in the event.
*(However, sadly this Record has now been beaten by 2500 women in Ireland during a charity event for cancer).
